This week I am reflecting on the Founder Effect series. Here are some of my favorites from the past 2 years.

Happy Holidays
Happy Holidays to all. Click on the image to see it larger. Please note: As always, due to the process and thinking in my creation of this: I consider this Graphic Design, not Fine Art; therefore it is OK being in color.

The Super of Hu-man - A coloring collaboration by Javier and Ben Knight
A few days ago I was coloring with my son. The initial intention by Javier was to shown the power of Superman, and what it looked like when he used all of his power. We both liked the way the work turned out so we decided to share it. We decided that the work should be shown in color on my website.

New series and body of work: The Equator series - an evolution/splitting of Corner-rings
Over the past year I did a lot of reflection on the Corner-rings series. I came to some conclusions and decided on some reductions and additions. As I begin this branching off from that series, I plan to document the process and production of these paintings. Each work will consist of two stacked oil paintings on canvas, that are installed into wall corners.
The Equator series takes its name from the continuation of play of light and shadow in these corner wall paintings, like its predecessors, The Corner-rings, though it does have some relation to this and some of these... and of course them.
Below is the first of this documentation of the process and new work. I will be updating the blog with posts as I continue to work on them.

"3 Off" - a new experiment/one-off paper sculture
Last year I made greeting card for a friend using graph paper. I exhumed the left overs/by product of card (paper cut out) in pile of paper in my studio. I shifted the paper around and loved the flexibility, angles and light. There is no proper way to arrange this paper sculpture. Below are some documented images of the new sculpture.

Jeanne Knight Faske's Chickee Hut Dedication
A little over a year ago I made a post for my Aunt Jeanne who had passed away. The idea of making a structure in her dedication was proposed, last week the was an unveiling for this Chickee Hut. It was made by the Seminole Tribe and installed at HL Johnson elementary school. I love the Dr. Seuss quote that was included on the plaque inside the hut. Special thanks to Robert Faske for sharing documentation of the event.
