Last month I started an on-going series of writings about Fine Artists working in NYC.

This month I write a poem for Brian Higbee, a Fine Artist originally from Pennsylvania who has made his home in Brooklyn, New York for more years than I have.

artistic shall have all

systemic shall have none

32 Below group show: Greenpoint, Brooklyn - Friday, February 11th 2011 - part 2

A month ago, I posted before images of documentation of a group show I was in, that opened last week.

The show is still on through February 19th the hours: Monday - Friday (by appt.) 2pm - 6pm / Sat 11am - 4pm. Sadly, I will be taking down my work before Saturday, let me know if you want to see it by appointment.

The space I was given was a hallway and two closets that are across from each other. I installed light work that has many similar attributes to all of my other light work: including storage of solar panels, etc

Like I have said before, Brian Higbee's installation is exceptional. Worth going to just for this.

I met some really great people and had a some great discussions on Fine Art, etc... One particularly great one with Max Yawney.

This is a reminder, about the opening for the group show I am in on Friday, 32 Below. I will be showing the new light installation, Did Eye Moi. It also includes great Fine Artists like Mike Estabrook, Brian Higbee and many others. Brian Higbee's installation is particularly exceptional.

Older work: update and questions

I have had requests and some feedback to see more documentation of my older work, more conceptually based work.

People have asked why I don't also have the older work as black and white (gray-scale) documentation as well? First, it is a great question, and I feel at the time I created the work I was very concerned with certain conceptual constructions and my newer work comes from a very different conceptual framework and deep concerns with the experience of the work. Needless to say, and as I have said before I have a deep interest in Conceptual Fine Art and its lineage in Fine Art. For more questions and answers about documentation click here.
